I spent two fantastic weeks traveling around Ireland filming these promo’s for National Geographic, what a beautiful country. Sunrise and sunset on the West coast, is of jaw dropping beauty. Shot HD 25p on a Sony HDW 750, Kinoflow Barfly soft light for most of the interview (keeping it simple).

These interviews were shot on location for Moviephone Unscripted.
Conal Freely, lighting camerman, put the crew, and set together, which was myself (Mark Evans) lighting camerman, Sean Keane, and Ned sound recordist.
Shot on three Panasonic HDX 900′s, I thought the set was really neat, and it didn’t take long to rig, the drapes and frames were hired in, and we managed to create a mini studio in a hotel room.
A couple of Kino Diva’s for key lights, a couple of Arri 300 Mizars as back lights, and the Hollywood Micro dolly for a bit of movement, and away we go.
The footage was firewired into final cut, while we were packing up, to ensure a quick turnaround.

Moviephone Unscripted Set Panasonic AJ-HDX 900e

This multi award wining film, for corporate film makers I-Motus, was commissioned by the Royal College of Nursing, for their ‘Dignity Campaign’ treating patients with respect.

It was shot in High Definition, on location, Joel Loader was the producer and Rob Maidment was the director.
Since then the film has gone on to win many awards. It won an IVCA award, the last clip below shows newsreader Moira Stewart presenting I-Motus with an AMI. It has won a ‘Stevie’ International Business Award, a CIB for best in class, two golds and a silver, at the US International Film and Video Festival, and Gold Medal at the 2009 New York Film Festival.

Jan 2010, I spent a week in the US shooting this promo for this film for the multi award wining, corporate film makers I-Motus.

It was a tight schedule, with many internal fights, we started in New York, then down to snowy Boston, then on to warm Atlanta, finally New York then home. We shot on Digi Beta, I took small lighting and sound kit, managing to get it all in one wheelie case.The talented young producer Joel Loader put it together, I really like the results.
