This is a clip from the first footage that I have shot with my new camera, the incredible AJ-HPX3000 P2. These were links with the tenor Bryn Terfel, for Sky filmed in ‘The Royal Opera House’.
The lights I used, my Balkar soft light for a key, the strip of blue light through the door was achieved with my dedo Hmi light, one more dedo lights the far background with a little blue gel.
I love the look of this new camera, the picture seems a little kinder than my HDW750.

This is an HD television programme making tool, of the highest grade. Workflow is easy, recording to P2 card, then I insert them into my seperate device, an MSU10, this transfers the files to the removable hard drive which can hold 8.5 hrs full HD pictures 1080i or 16 hours DVC Pro HD 720i, you take this away to your edit. The files are MXF files, easily read by Final Cut or Avid. This can all be done on the hoof!
The P2 bit can be a bit confusing, this is just the Panasonic’s way of transferring data.
Basically I shoot beautiful panasonic pictures, and you take away a hard drive with the files.
For longer productions we just keep swapping hard drives.
